Truth is one of the most sought after and least heard things in the Universe. Generally, it is easy to seek it, harder to hear it, even harder to heed it and most challenging of all to live it and live in its awareness.

There are few things as open to interpretation, challenging and frightening as the Truth except possibly Love, or George Bush.

Some seek it. Others try to cover it up or alter it or censor it or proclaim it. But Truth is an elusive thing. Harder to catch than an eel or a falling star. The trick is to realise that it was right there all along like the glasses on top of your head you've spent all day searching for. Truth, they inform us is a dangerous and potentially flammable substance. We are not to be trusted with it.

Truth is a many-faceted thing... and unique for each of us. We will all have, or make, or acquire our versions of the Truth. No amount of Proof will be as powerful as the Truth that you believe.

How do I distinguish the truth from all the background noise and hum and hub and advertising of life? With patience and practice. With stillness. With the way it rings with me. Note here, despite being reputed to hold truth, copious amounts of alcoholic beverages are not generally recommended as tools of inner clarity.

Truths are not fixed. They are flexible. They expand and shrink and grow and change with us. They fit and shape who we are at any given time. They will be composed of similar elements but unique to each of us. You are allowed and encouraged to explore, question, think, test and create your own.

There are few Universal Truths except possibly: that which we know as reality is but an illusion and we are limitless... which is more than most of us can readily conceive. God Is. All the time. Everywhere. In the Seen and the Unseen, the Felt and the Unfelt, and the quiet deep inner wordless knowing that exists within each one of us. We Are All One. And toast falls butter side down, especially on expensive rugs.

When I think about Truth, I see it as God...I especially relate truth to the idea of a trinity. God the "father" as Truth, God the "mother" as the Holy Spirit or deliverer of the truth, and Christ (Buddha, etc.) as the truth being in us (humans).

Truth is something we can all know, and the closer we get to truth is, in my opinion, the closer we get to God. Now, of course lots of people have different ideas of the truth, but in reality, there is only one truth, and no matter how we fight the truth or try to bend the truth in some cases, its futile and only causes pain and disturbance.

I think the pain and disturbance in the world at this time is really at the core, a reflection of people wanting their truth to be the "right" one...but that is ridiculous, the truth is the truth and no one can change it. I mean we could blow up the whole planet and that would not change the truth, it would still be. In oppressive governments and religions, there is only one objective, to suppress the truth... to keep people from finding the truth... because it is something you have to find... within yourself, it exists there, and it is something you have to discover for yourself, no one can tell you what is true or not, they can help you along the way, but it is ultimately Your journey.

I really do find the trinity symbol for this helpful for me...I can relate it to certain aspects of the world and groups and such...If I see a society or group or family or even individual ruled by one aspect more heavily than another it kinda gives me an insight into what is happening... Say if it is a male (God the "father") ruled society (family etc.) that tells me what the core situation is...if a society oppresses women, it is basically not the woman so much, but what the woman represents (God the mother/deliverer, and women do deliver children physically) ... so basically that society is oppressing women because they want to suppress the "deliverer of the Truth"... they wish to decide the Truth themselves, on their own terms...and do not wish their society to know any Truth besides what they deem to be the truth. In a male suppressed society it would be basically the same way.

So, to me, the best thing you can do is work to become as "Christ"... being in touch with the Truth, working to be Truth in the world... receiving the Truth (God the Father) from The spirit of Truth (God the Mother).

I know this has a Christian theme to it, and I am a Christian... but I believe that it applies to other religions, and even no religion...such as psychology... the anima and animus... individuation etc., and also natural phenomenon... nature, human nature... so sorry this is so long... but this is one of my favorite
subjects *L*...Finding the Truth...I've been on the
search for many years!

Truth is seeing with the clarity of the soul and without the prejudices of ego. One of my favorite quotes, and from an unlikely source, is "Truth can be lost in a fact, like a shadow in darkness." (Master Poe, from the old Kung Fu movie series).

Where "fact" is presented as a concrete actuality in one's current reality, "Truth" transcends physical reality and encompasses a vaster perspective, seeing beyond "fact".

"Truth" is something our ego will attempt to hide from us if facing the "truth" takes us out of our comfortable "reality"... the mind "talking us out of" the truth that we know in our hearts. "Truth" is not a function of ego, but rather a connection to heart and spirit, a Divine consciousness that we all have access to.
