After much hesitation I am asking you this question because I kind of feel a trifle lost and sad at the moment, even though I know this will pass. I guess I am looking for some guidance and comfort... :-) I have just brken off an important relationship, simply because i felt the purpose of that relationship was over. He came into my life in 1993 when I was pregnant with my son and happily married too. I didn't know then why God had put him on my path to Self- Realization and I am still in the process and have much to realize about the Self. I love him dearly, but I do not have a clue as to his real feelings for me. It would just give some peace of mind to know the real picture. I wondered if you could give me an insight into our relationship? My name is Piyali, female, born on the 21st May xxxx. His name is Lloyd, born on the 5th of Nov. xxxx. My whole life has changed because of this relationship in terms of self-awareness, spiritually. I don't know if he was affected, but I certainly have been. Thank you. First of all, let me congratulate you on your insight. It isn't always easy to recognize that a relationship of any kind has served its purpose, and that it is time to move forward. When there is a closeness, letting go is not easy at all, even when necessary.

Lloyd's entry into your life was properly timed from the point of view of the universe. He helped you to see things that you needed to learn, and supported you as you made changes in your life. You have grown much from the positive influence he offered. You also recognize that you have more growth yet to come, although you aren't sure at this point how that will occur. You probably didn't realize until recently that the connection with Lloyd would have fulfilled its purpose, and that you would be moving on, so its understandable that you aren't sure what is coming next.

Well, the wonderful thing about growth is that the teacher will appear when the student is ready. The universe will give you time to finish releasing Lloyd, and then once you are ready, your new teacher will appear. There are new ideas and new connections coming with the new teacher. These will build upon what you have already learned.

Allow yourself some time to pull back from Lloyd. There is certainly nothing wrong with feeling a bit sad, perhaps a sense of loss at seeing the end of this. It is a good time to simply give yourself some time to reflect on the growth you've experienced in the time you've known him, and see just how much you have learned. This will give you a good base as you look forward to more growth and the illumination of your path to a higher level of awareness.

Lloyd does care about you, and what happens to you. He will also experience some sense of loss from the end of this relationship. However, he is also at the beginning of new growth on his path, and will meet others who are ready to learn, as he learns things himself. I can also tell you, as a teacher by profession and in a spiritual sense, that the teacher always learns from his or her students, in one way or another. This relationship has taught him much, because he is a man who is open to learning in all forms. If he does not yet see the growth and new connections that await him, he will very soon.

Do not be concerned that you have done the wrong thing, or that he is unreasonably upset due to the end of the relationship. He will experience the emotions, just as you feel them now, but he will know that it is a necessary part of his path as well. All is occurring as it is meant to.
