Baraka (bah-ROCK-uh) - an Arabic word meaning a gift of spiritual energy, the energy or atmosphere created by a person or sometimes a group (as with the Sufi whirling dervishes)who touch upon "Oneness".

It is a power that seems to energize those who receive it, even when they return to their "mundane" tasks. And others around them feel it as well as feel wonder.

Humorously enough, my Yugoslavian friend tells me it sounds very much like the Serbian word for "dilapidated cabin".
