Who is Harusami?

HarusamiHarusami is a Japanese word meaning "spring rain" or it's a bean thread noodle. After a renewal of spirit begun in 1998, I stopped trying to kill myself by slowly drowning in wine 8 ounces at a time, I lost 80 pounds, quit a 2 pack-a-day nicotine addiction, overcame a 15+ year phobia of driving that manifested after an unavoidable accident.... and I started to look at the world with fresh new eyes and began mending a heart that had been grieving for 20 years following the death of a soulmate. I'm now an artist, Reiki master, writer, spiritual advisor, web designer, transformation facilitator and generally happy person.

I have always been an artist, some of my first memories were being three or four years-old and trying to copy in crayon and pencil the faces of the women on my mother's Japanese Ladies magazines. (yes, I'm half Japanese) I was also fascinated by a black lacquered table my parents had....inlaid with mother-of-pearl and painted images of Japanese houses and mountains, streams and bridges. I have the table Another Saturday Nightnow, though the parents had disowned me....which is another story....but suffice it to say that while going through spiritual renewal, emotional healing, physical transformation, divorce, and parental disownment my former name no longer felt right to me... and so Harusami was born....it seemed to encompass an ethereal yet humorous view of the world that was perfectly me....and it was either that or "The artist formerly unknown as Linda Pickrell" or "Prince" since he was no longer using that name.....
