I highly recommend
Viktor Frankl's book, "Man's
Search for Meaning" for anyone who has lived
through suffering and wondered, "why me?" A survivor
of Nazi death camps, Frankl emerged from unspeakable horrors
to develop a form of psychotherapy and a philosophy based
on the theory that man's primary motivational force is his
search for meaning and though we may not have control of what
happens to us....we can control our perception of the experience
and are capable of finding achievement in that suffering.
So I keyworded Frankl and I found this incredible site belonging
to one Rich Geib, I feel it's one of the best concise overviews
of Frankl's philosophy and history. Be sure to check out Rich
Geib's "Heroes" and "Thoughts Worth Thinking"
pages.... Very inspirational.... the story of Japanese fighter
pilot Takeo Tanimizu brought tears.
